Creamcheese Icing is a delicious and some would say preferable topping on cupcakes and traditional cakes. Many people find regular cake Icing a bit too thick or sweet, and sometimes too airy of a texture, Creamcheese as a topping for cakes is so wonderfully rich that you need not spread a generous amount to top off the dessert. A thinly covered layer of product is all you really need to get the job done.

There are several versions of Creamcheese Icing available on store shelves from the manufacturers of several popular brand cake mixes. But perhaps you want to create your own version of Icing with your own special twist! There are several great versions of this Icing available for review online and in many of the most classic cookbooks. Creamcheese is very easy to work with as a culinary ingredient. It only takes a few additional ingredients to make the kind of Icing you will be happy with. You will want to use enough of a sweetener to help balance out flavours of the dessert and yet not overpower the whole experience of each bite. Another suggestion is to add a small but generous amount of finely chopped nuts like Pecans or Peanuts. This will give your Icing an extra amount of substance that will give a texture similar to an ice-cream sundae.
 
As many people are health conscious of what they are consuming, you have the option of using a low-fat version of Creamcheese and an artificial sweetener if necessary. Using Creamcheese Icing is a wonderfully pleasant and different experience for fans of cakes and other Icing-laden desserts.

Cream Cheese Icing

One 8 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. butter, softened
2 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. pkg. powdered sugar

Beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Blend in vanilla. Sift powdered sugar. Gradually beat together powdered sugar and mixture. 
 
Cream Cheese Icing 2
1/2 cup of melted butter
One 8 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon of vanilla
One 1 pound box of confectioners' sugar  
 
Combine the butter, cream cheese and vanilla, mixing well. Gradually add confectioners' sugar, beating well until smooth. Spread on cooled cake.
 
Cream Cheese Icing 3

One 8 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
1 stick margarine, room temperature
1 lb. box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream: Cream cheese and margarine, then add vanilla; beat well. Add powdered sugar. Mix until of spreading consistency.
